Looked for a place to stay
Left the hostel (finally) to a 2 star hotel near combronne
Checking out from the hostel is fast. 

*ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... bye bye!!!*
 

Rained last night. : floor wet, wind cold. 
nice weather.. not warm..

9am reached hotel.

we left our baggages there as room will only be ready after 14.30pm

We took quite some time to look for paris st lazare station. 

later, we found out how to get to caen. (115ff one way)
we decided to try out our europass.

ride is boring. Someone is dozing off next to me, and head waving around.

caen is very big .

after a long long walk walk from its train station to chatue and memorial, 
We have passed the chatuae (Chateau Ducal)
we didn't go in. (due to time constraints.)
we detoured around the centre of the city and ended up in memorial around 4pm.
 

Anyway, the memorial is all about worldwar that happened in the early 1900  and is mainly what france this history of france and her surrounding countries.    I got bored and decided to walk around the building I found a glass monument behind the memorial. Met a lady with 2 kids. they were walking around the place and the came down to say hi to us.  She was from Ireland. speaks fluent english.

 
 

Left Memorial. Going back by bus. We tried to converse with the bus driver but he don't understand english. We had a good way of communicating by chooing the english phase with a french translation attached next to it and with a pen and a piece of paper. We got back to station and bel was talking to a lady. When she knew we are from singapore. she started to say not so nice things about us. She thinks that we are people still living in wood houses.  I brought sandwiche for dinner.  ( whole day I have bread!)

6.2ff to travel from the memorial  (bus 17) to somewhere near  the gare.

When we are back in our lodging 
we asked for hot water. he don't look helpful.
( tipped that fella 10ff and you can see his reaction change abruptly. )
we cooked instant noodles. Hot food is great! 
Curry mee is better than bread.
