France : Walk walk walk...
9th June 2000 Friday

7am woke up. BF: orange juice, bread, bread and bread.
=\
there should be some difference. let me rephrase: orange juice, roundish hard bread, sliced hard bread and whatever-it-is bread.

9am, Tour begins!

Distance walked: .... very long I think..

Red Line: 9th June, the walk from central paris to the notre dame area
Blue Line: 10th June, we were walking near the eiffel tower area.
Black Line: 11th June, st michel area.

Above is a map of Paris's Public Transport system. The Metro.

After the experience yesterday, we can more or less found our way around. We dropped off at the station near arc de triumph. The gang spent 1/2 hour trying to used the toilet machine.  Urm.... heh .. with only one token.? =P We walked down Ave des champs elysees by passed by palais de l'elysees.

Right: Front view of Arc de Triomph
Bottom: side view.

top : palais de l'elysees

Clockwise from right : Invalides,
pl. de la concorde, pl. de la concorde
palais de l'elysees

Walking down Ave des champs elysees, there were many shopping centers. It is similar to Orchard Road, where you can find many many shops. Just looking around... hmm.. not buying anything.

After we've passed the area near concorde, we wondered off to the area near madeleine.

Continuing the walk, We walked walked .. erm.. Went thru a place with some kind of platforms. =0 (don't tell me that it is a play ground....) Palais Royal? Hmm...

Anyway.. we are at the Louvre..
There's a few big-Glass-Pyramids in the center of the place. One of it is a the main entrance into the museum.

So... waited for sometimes and I finally got my ticket! (don't understand a single word on the ticket. gee.. except 26.00 and 09-06-00)

Inside Louvre

Big place.. I actually.. after all the walking earlier on.. I am still tired.

*erm..*
get this right. I'm not old.

There are many many pictures.... many many statues..  and some hmm.. old-interia design?

I suppose so. But personally, I think the scruptures are more interesting to look at.

A great collection of statues, Milo etc..

Just one thing which I do not understand... Scrupturing human form is an art.. I fully understand that. But Is that how the people dress like in the past.. ?

Are people then, generally naked? Most of the scruptures are.

Out of Lourve

Sat outside the building resting for a while before going to buy stuffs.

Got a T-shirt at hard rock cafe Paris 139FF, and found the mouse key chain that my friend wanted. see 27th June ?

At Cathedral of notre dame

Walk to notre dame. During then, I think everyone is tired. hmm.. thirsty and hungry too.

Walked around the cathedral. I think the rear view looks pretty good. And later, I went into inside the to have a look. It's rather dark inside. (Why ah? for the atmosphere isit?) Later... I donated 10ff. (Frankly speaking... cannot remember why I did that..  )
We went to look for water again. can't live without it.

at st michel area. (quartier latin)

I found kenny which my friend wanted, but shop was closed. It' a pity.

I'd seen some liquor miniature.
After much thought, I am not buying.  I'd bought a bottle of Irish cream at London already. Also.. I think miniature is not really meant for drinking. It's more like a decor to me.

Shared a rock sugar cake sometimes later when I passed a cafe..... taste like rock sugar instead of a cake.

Top right: front of catedral
center: inside of cathedral.
Bottom right: back of cathedral

back in hostel
Just to confirmed with you guys. I really dun like the hostel because of the service.

Had dinner at monmmetre but dunno what restaurant, selling pasta  (i think Bel over ordered something for Ken. An extra dish which cost quite some money). Bel paid the for the extra stuff i think. her fault. she said one. not me.

Was back at the hostel around 9pm. CY and LY are in the wash rooms bathing. so we left some message and then we waited at the dining area. waited till around 10pm - 11pm before we can get back to the room.

hotel fees. 252fr per person. tsk $$!

Wanted to thank my gang of friends. But then again... =\

Are you ready.......?
